Married 1 March 1873 in unknown location to Mary Ellen Crosland, daughter of Michael Crosland and Lucinda Riggle, born 14 April 1853 in Marion, Marion County, Ohio and died 22 November 1932 in Duluth, St. Louis County, Minnesota. Buried 26 November 1932 in Kelsey, St. Louis County, Minnesota.

Thomas came to Eau Claire as a young man - he was adopted - had a brother (Mike, Yike or Zike, not sure of spelling) that cooked on a river boat from New Orleans, Louisiana to Minneapolis, Minnesota - Thomas worked at the paper mill at Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Brother George born 1834 in Ohio - wife Effie born 1834 & daughter Francis (born in Indiana) lived in Cass County, Indiana in 1860. George was a carpenter.
Thomas' wife Mary Ellen moved to Duluth & lived with their daughter Lula Preston after Thomas died.

Thomas Jefferson Dunlap passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Grace) Edmonds, May 13, at Connorsville, Dunn County, at the age of 72 years and 3 month. He was born at Tionesta, Pa., Feb. 13, 1848. As a young man he came to Eau Claire and on March 1, 1873, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Crosland of Concord, Wis. They lived in Eau Claire for many years. Nine children were born to this marrage of which seven are now living. Mr. Claude Dunlap, Rockford, Ill. Mrs. L. (Loren) E. (Lula) Preston, Kelsey, Minn., Mrs. C. N. Edmonds, Mrs. C. W. Edmonds, Mrs. A. (Andrew) M. (Sarah) Simmons, Clyde Dunlap, and Mrs. M. (Marvin) H. (Mary) Burton, all living in close vincinity.
Besides his widow and seven children he is survived by 28 grand-children. He is buried at Connorsville.

Mary Ellen Crosland was raised by the Ranson family.

Loren Preston and Lula lived in Kelsey, St. Louis County, Minnesota at the time of Thomas Dunplaps' death.
