Decked out in sunglasses and suspenders while sporting a shaved head, Ray was known for his flamboyance and enthusiasm at these shows. After about a 5 minute percussion solo, Ray would lead the crowd into a rousing audience-participation chant. He would end the chant with a Thank-You, then bang on the Giant Gong behind him while Elton began to play "Pinball Wizard."  This Percussion solo/chant originated back in the Seventies when Elton and Ray did a tour without their band. Each  show had a slight variation of the chant - below is a transcript of his chant in Pittsburgh, PA in 1994.
